Our good and relational God created the world,

so our lives find purpose in His presence as His image-bearers.

Because Genesis reveals who God is and why we exist

This makes all of life worship and means we live as stewards of creation.

Genesis 1-25 Discussion

Reading: Genesis 1 – 25 (selected scenes: 1:26-28; 3:6-24; 6:5-8; 11:1-9; 12:1-3; 15:5-6; 22:1-19)

Summary:
Genesis 1–25 tells a complete story—creation, exile, and restoration. We were made as God’s image-bearers to dwell in His presence, yet our distrust led to exile. Still, God never gave up. Through His covenant with Abraham, He began restoring what was lost, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus, who walks the blood line Himself to bring us home.

Questions:

  1. Where in these opening chapters do you most clearly see God’s relational heart toward humanity?

  2. What forms of “exile” do you experience today—distance from God, others, or purpose?

  3. How does God’s covenant with Abraham (Genesis 15) reveal His relentless pursuit and grace?

  4. In what ways does Jesus complete the story begun in Genesis?

  5. How can your life today reflect Act 3 – Restoration—living as a blessed one who blesses others?

Practice:
Take time this week to trace God’s pursuit in your own story. Write three short “acts”:

  • Act 1 – Creation: moments you’ve known God’s goodness and calling.

  • Act 2 – Exile: seasons of wandering, doubt, or loss.

  • Act 3 – Restoration: ways God has met you with grace or purpose.
Pray through each act, thanking God that He has not stopped pursuing you—and ask how He wants to use you to bless others in His ongoing restoration.

Thanksgiving Table Liturgy:

We have created a Thanksgiving Table Liturgy for you to use with your family or friends this coming week. You can use it as is or adapt to your own gathering.

Genesis 15–22 Discussion

Questions:
  • What is the significance of God asking Abraham to sacrifice Isaac?
  • How does God provide in this passage, and how does it point forward to Christ?
  • What does Abraham’s obedience teach us about surrender and trust?
  • Where do you need to trust God with something you treasure?
Practice: Practice surrender: prayerfully name one thing you’re holding tightly, and ask God to help you entrust it to Him.
