Reading: Genesis 1 – 25 (selected scenes: 1:26-28; 3:6-24; 6:5-8; 11:1-9; 12:1-3; 15:5-6; 22:1-19)

Summary:
Genesis 1–25 tells a complete story—creation, exile, and restoration. We were made as God’s image-bearers to dwell in His presence, yet our distrust led to exile. Still, God never gave up. Through His covenant with Abraham, He began restoring what was lost, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus, who walks the blood line Himself to bring us home.

Questions:

  1. Where in these opening chapters do you most clearly see God’s relational heart toward humanity?

  2. What forms of “exile” do you experience today—distance from God, others, or purpose?

  3. How does God’s covenant with Abraham (Genesis 15) reveal His relentless pursuit and grace?

  4. In what ways does Jesus complete the story begun in Genesis?

  5. How can your life today reflect Act 3 – Restoration—living as a blessed one who blesses others?

Practice:
Take time this week to trace God’s pursuit in your own story. Write three short “acts”:

  • Act 1 – Creation: moments you’ve known God’s goodness and calling.

  • Act 2 – Exile: seasons of wandering, doubt, or loss.

  • Act 3 – Restoration: ways God has met you with grace or purpose.
Pray through each act, thanking God that He has not stopped pursuing you—and ask how He wants to use you to bless others in His ongoing restoration.
