Mutual Submission Under the Headship of Christ

Jesus calls His followers to a life of mutual submission. Submission is an invitation to leadership. To follow His lead is to submit to His ways. This is lived out on a personal and community level. We are to individually submit ourselves to God in living according to His truth and ask the Holy Spirit for the power to do so. We are to follow the local leaders of the church as we gather to worship, pray, serve and apply God’s word to our lives. And finally, as a community of Jesus followers grows in it’s reverence for Him, our hearts find joy in submitting to one another.

Our church staff strives to lead and be lead by one another through mutuality and humility. We believe that each person on our team is uniquely gifted and brings a valuable voice to our team.

The Park Community Church leadership is comprised of three groups.

Board of Directors
These men and women provide leadership to our 501(c)3 non-profit organization. They are tasked with financial stewardship & transparency, organizational accountability, and legal matters. The lead pastor of The Park is a voting board member, the other board members are volunteers with deep ties to our congregation.

The Core Team
These men and women are leaders and key volunteers. They oversee the ministry programs, missional partnerships, and advise the staff team on ministry. The Core Team members serve for 2 years, are selected by the congregation, and meet 10 times a year.

Church Staff Team
Our church staff team are bi-vocational leaders who play operational and strategic roles in our congregation. The church staff team meets weekly for planning and prayer. A subset of the staff team is our preaching team who work collectively to design preaching series. We are fortunate to have a community of gifted communicators who share the role of preaching.
