Good Friday Tenebrae Service

Upcoming Events and Schedule

  • Good Friday Tenebrae Service| April 7th
  • Easter Jam, Egg Hunt and Easter Service| April 9th

Good Friday Tenebrae Service

‘Tenebrae’ means darkness or shadows. As we come to the end of Lent, we begin a journey into darkness to a place of deep shadows. This service is a somber service where we read scripture from the last week of Jesus’ life and sing together. We enter into the depth of sadness and darkness that would have been felt after Jesus died on the cross, before Easter Sunday. This service is a preparation to celebrate Easter Sunday morning. Join us today Friday, April 7th for our Good Friday Tenebrae Service at noon at The Christian School of Castle Hills.

Easter Jam

Easter Sunday is going to be a morning filled with lots of excitement for the whole family! Join us at 8:45 AM for breakfast, then at 9 AM we will kick off Easter Jam! We will have music, games, prizes, and the Easter story. Immediately following the service we will have an egg hunt outside.

Easter Service

Join us at 10 am for our Easter service this Sunday. We will have an egg hunt outside after service.

Easter Sunday Serving

Easter Sunday is a time where The Park has many visiting for the first time. We would love to welcome them to our church community on this very special service and all the fun activities we have planned. If you are available to serve in Operations (set up or take down), Connections (greeting or helping with food), Family Ministry (preschool or elementary classes) or Media you can contact Nancy Gaines at nancy@theparksa.org.

Lent Guide

Lent Guides are available on our website, app, as well as printed copies available on Sundays at The Christian School at Castle Hills and in the public book case at Beacon House.

The Lent Guide includes meditations, prayers, and some practices for us to do together. Some of these practices involve a sacrifice of giving something up. Some of them require us to give blessings to others rather than ourselves.

This focus of practicing the “unforced rhythms of grace” helps us to live in joy and hope in a world that is full of disruption and upheaval. They help prepare us to once again experience the act of receiving new hearts on Easter Sunday morning. We are saved once we accept Jesus, but the celebration of Easter allows us to experience salvation once again.

To view our Lent resources you can click here.

We want this season of Lent to be one where together we are not just meditating on the things of God, but one where we are practicing them together.
