New Series: Deuteronomy | A Consuming Fire
Last Sunday, we launched our new teaching series through the book of Deuteronomy.
Deuteronomy is Moses’s farewell sermon to a generation standing on the edge of the Promised Land. At its heart, it is a call to exclusive covenant fidelity—loving and serving the LORD alone in a world packed with rival gods and competing allegiances.
Did you know this is the very book Jesus reached for in his own life? When tested in the wilderness by Satan, Jesus quoted Deuteronomy three times: all from chapters 6–8, the core of where we will be focusing. Deuteronomy shaped Jesus himself, showing us how to resist rival allegiances and remain faithful to the one true God. Taking its title from Deuteronomy 4:24 “the LORD your God is a consuming fire”, this series invites us to examine how total devotion to God reshapes our daily lives today.

Fall Leadership Community Gathering
As we step into a new season, we want to bring our volunteers, leaders, and our whole church community together for our Fall Leadership Community Gathering this Sunday. Whether you serve once a month, lead a small group, or serve behind the scenes, this is a chance to connect, hear a financial update, look ahead at our fall events and series, learn about staff changes, pray for The Park and our city, and encourage one another. We would love for you to make time to join us as we step into the fall together. Tacos and coffee will be available starting at 8:40 AM, with the meeting beginning at 8:45 AM in the CSCH cafeteria. If childcare is needed please RSVP here so we can plan for childcare.
High School Youth Group
Our High School Youth Group kicked off last Sunday with a great group of students! Join us this Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Austin’s! It’s going to be a great space to hang out, connect with new friends, and dig into faith together. If your student is interested in joining us, reach out to Nancy Gaines at nancy@theparksa.org to get all the details! We can’t wait to see everyone there.
Dinner Together
Dinner Together is a relaxed, family-style evening where people from all ages and stages gather across host homes in our city to share a meal and good conversation. This fall, dinners will take place on Saturday, September 12 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in homes around the area.
When you sign up, you’ll be placed in a dinner group of about 10–15 people that fits you best, whether that’s with kids or without kids, there is a table for everyone. Your host will provide the main dish, and everyone else will jump in by bringing a side, dessert, or drinks. Once groups are set, we will connect you with your host, who will follow up with the address and what to bring. We can’t wait to gather around the table with you! Click here to join a dinner group.

New Studies Starting
Romans Bible Study
Looking to go deeper in Scripture this fall? Join us for an in-depth study of Romans using Precepts Bible study materials. This group meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesdays, at the home of Guy and Rebecca Gould in the Thousand Oaks/Henderson Pass area beginning September 9, with dinner at 6:00 PM and Bible study from 7:00–8:30 PM. This study is open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or marital status. No childcare is provided. Contact Guy Gould at ggould210@gmail.com for the address and more information. Ladies Book Club
LBC is a group of women who are reading a book together a chapter at a time. We meet every Tuesday evening to discuss the assigned chapter, eat snacks and talk and before we pray together to end our meeting we share our prayers, praises and confessions as we feel comfortable. We will begin meeting at Beacon House for the next book: Redeeming Eden on Tuesday, September 8, 7:00-9:30 PM. The study will run for 13 weeks. School of Theology
Our Fall School of Theology will begin on Sunday October 18 – November 8, 8:30-9:30 AM. Our selected book is Making Room by Christine D. Pohl. In Making Room, Christine Pohl explores hospitality as a central Christian practice: welcoming strangers, making space for those who are often overlooked, and sharing our lives and resources with others. Hospitality is more than entertaining; it is a way of living that reflects the welcome and grace of Jesus. This book invites us to consider how our homes, churches, and everyday lives can become places where people experience belonging, dignity, and the love of Christ.
Missional Partner Prayer Group
Our long time missional parterns, the Kemps, have returned to Albania safely. Thank you for praying for them! You’re invited to join the Albania Prayer Group, where we’ll gather to pray, hear updates from the Kemps, stay connected with their ministry, and support them however we can. The group also hopes to send a team to serve in Albania in the future. Click here to join.

The Park Mom’s Club
A simple way has been created for moms at The Park to connect and support one another in this season of motherhood. Mental Health Advising and Wellness
We aim to support our congregation and community through companionship, guidance to relevant services, mental health education, a vetted referral list, and, when needed, help with crisis care costs. The goal is to offer love and presence during mental health needs, crises, or ongoing care. Contact us for mental health resources
