Jehovah Jirah: The Lord will provide
{General Questions}
1.) What does this scripture communicate about the heart of God?
2.) What does it teach us about ourselves?
3.) Does it challenge our thinking/beliefs in a new way?
{Sermon Specific Question}
- How have you experienced the Lord as your provider? Read Psalms 37. What does it say about the wicked and the one who trust in the Lord?
- Trusting God to provide always is extremely difficult. It’s hard to let go of control of our lives. David says that he is now an old man in Psalms 37 and yet “I have not seen the righteous forsaken.” How can we begin to develop a trust in Christ with our entire life? Do you believe that he won’t forsake the righteous?
- Provision and patience go hand in hand. Psalms 37 says “Wait for the Lord and keep his way,” and “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” Do you jump too quickly to solve your problems instead of allowing God to provide His solution?
