Greetings! Below you will find questions which reference the sermon preached this past Sunday at The Park. I encourage you to begin your group with a time of greeting and introductions. You may choose to reorder the questions below or to write your own. Work hard to facilitate discussion and avoid allowing yourself or another member to speak the entire hour. Ultimately we trust you with leading your group.

  • What are some observations you had from this chapter? Were there any new insights you learned about the passage from the sermon?
  • What theology was present in this chapter?
  • What did you learn about God from reading this chapter?
  • What is significant about Paul’s use of Abraham as an example in chapter 3? For reference read Genesis chapters 15 and 17.

  • Read verses 21 and 22, what does Paul state as the purpose of the law?

  • Verse 28 is one of the most highly used passages of Scripture with regard to equality. What specific implications does this verse have for Christianity, the church, and your ministry?

  • Paul continues to outline the Gospel message to the Galatians in chapter 3. You can get a sense of how vital this message is in Paul’s use of severe language: “foolish, bewitched, suffer in vain, cursed, may it never be!, etc…”  How do you demonstrate the importance of the gospel in your life with those around you? Is there anyone with whom you may need to share the gospel with directly?

  • What external “laws” are you living by that you need to set aside in order to “live by faith” (vs. 11)?
