What is a Missional Community?

Jesus said to his disciples, “As the Father sent me, so I am sending you”. So, at it’s core, a Missional Community is a collection of followers of Christ who are radically committed to one another (“love one another as I have loved you”) and to joining with God in seeing His kingdom come in San Antonio as it is in Heaven. An MC joins with God by going to others in the same heart as He came to us. This happens through thoughtful and purposeful acts, words, and invitations to others.

It is in the Missional Community where people can explore what it means to know and follow Christ. Followers of Christ incarnate the good news as they tell stories of His faithfulness and engage in the practices of Jesus such as prayer, worship, teaching, and fellowship. The fruits of the Spirit are meant to be on full display here. Critical rhythms like confession and forgiveness come to the surface, love and care are noticeably experienced, and maturity through mutual submission happens as the word of God is engaged and processed.
