MacArthur Terrace Parish

Welcome

In the summer of 2003, I found myself in the middle of a corporate move that transitioned me from Chicago to San Antonio with my intention to live here for a year and then move on to my next post. Little did I know then that God had other plans which would include calling this city home, leaving the corporate world for the international mission field, returning to San Antonio to work in full time ministry, meeting my wife, starting a family, and joining God in church planting here in San Antonio. In 2010, I was fortunate to be a part of a small group of radically committed friends who stepped out to plant The Park Community Church. Since that time we have seen God move in amazing ways. His power and presence have been made known as we have prayed for healing, started missional communities, taught through books of the Bible, served with partners across the world, and gathered on Sundays to worship God and seek His heart for all people.

In the summer of 2017, my family and I moved right behind MacArthur High School. As we walked the streets and met our neighbors, we began to wonder if we would plant a parish in our neighborhood. Early in 2019 those thoughts began to become a reality as we gathered a Core Team, gathered for prayer and discernment, and received the gracious invitation from Northeast Baptist Church to use their facilities on Sunday evenings. On August 4th, 2019 we held our first worship service and we look forward to joining with God in loving and serving our city!

At its core, we believe the church is a family with a calling to grow as disciples of Jesus who are a sent people into every corner of our city and world to “proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). Come join us on a Sunday! We would love to meet you!
