Ladies Game Night
We had such a great time at our last Ladies Night Out last month, Maddy Thacker and Brittany Biddle are having a Ladies Game Night next Friday, July 7 at 7:30 PM at Maddy’s house. Light snacks and drinks will be available. Bring a drink, snack or your favorite game to share. Click here to let them know you’ll be joining!
Blueprint Summer Meal Serving
This summer our middle and high school youth kids will be serving at Blueprint Ministries July 9-13 to serve San Antonio’s low-income residents by repairing homes for increased health and safety. This summer, our work includes roofing, siding repair, drywall, and flooring repair. These kids will be working a full day helping Blueprint homeowners. We want to reach out to our church community for volunteers to lend a hand in the kitchen to feed our hungry work crews. Tasks would include assisting with the setup, serving meals to campers, and cleaning up after the meal. You can volunteer to serve in the morning 6:45 AM – 9:15 AM for breakfast or in the evening 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM for dinner. You can sign up as an individual, with a small group, or with your family. We welcome children who are 12 years old or in 6th grade and above. Click here to join us in making this summer a success! The Park students will be working during week 6, July 9-13.
Elementary Summer Events
This Summer in Elementary, we are wrapping up our yearlong overview of the Bible. We will explore the early church and study the lives of Paul and Peter. Our monthly virtue is Faith. Promotion Sunday Extravaganza
Mark your calendars for an event you wont want to miss- Promotion Sunday Extravaganza August 20th! This will be a back to school party after church for the entire family. Until this event, please keep your children in their current class on Sunday mornings. We will not be moving them up a grade until our big party in August.
Missional Partner Highlight: Kemps
We are so excited to have the Kemp family here with us this summer. They are missionaries sent out through the Park, planting churches amongst the Roma of Albania. Their family will be in San Antonio for the summer to reconnect with the church and their friends and family. Please feel free to reach out to them to set up a coffee, lunch or whatever. Summer Volunteering
If you’ve been considering serving at The Park, the summer is a great time to check out one of the many areas to serve, whether in Family Ministry, Connections, Operations, or Media, we are always in need of people to help serve alongside us. With many traveling over the summer, we could use a few extra hands to help things run smoothly. Family Ministry is in great need for several volunteers each Sunday. All volunteer positions are easy to learn. At The Park we only ask for a once a month volunteering commitment. Beacon House
The Beacon House event space is up and running! The Beacon House is looking for a small, hourly staff that is interested in helping with events for the Beacon House. If you are interested please email annie@beaconhousesa.org for more details.
Care Ministry
If you are in need of counseling of any sort, mentoring, assistance meeting a need, or prayer, we want to come along side you to assist in these things. To find out more on our Care Ministry you can click here.
Prayer at The Park
If you have a prayer request you would like us to pray for, we are available for prayer on Sunday morning before, during, and after service. You can contact Des Leiloglou at des@theparksa.org if you would like prayer before or after service. We also have a way for you to submit a prayer request at any time via our Church Form. Prayer requests can be confidential or can be shared with our staff to be prayed over. Click here to submit a prayer request.
Women’s Ministry Groups
We have several women’s groups that meet weekly and biweekly as well as monthly women’s events. If you’re looking to get to know more women at The Park and participate in any of these groups or events you can contact Nancy Gaines at nancy@theparksa.org.
Men’s Ministry Groups
Men’s Discipleship Core– This group meets Tuesdays at Tia’s Taco Hut 7-8 am. The group will look at a passage of scripture using Lectio Divina.
Spirited– This is a group of people sitting around a table, talking about issues of faith and philosophy, ethics and ideas. It is a safe space, where people can be honest and open about topics of faith, ask any questions, and at the end of the night, know that it’s perfectly fine if we disagree with one another. Group meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month, 7:30-9:30 PM, summer may alter meeting times.
Pre-Service Connection
Every Sunday we have a time of community before service. Starting at 9:30am we have tacos and coffee available in the sanctuary. We hope you will join us to say hello, catch up, or pray before service.
