Caring for the Safety of All
At The Park, we have tried to make the most wise decisions in regards to the safety of everyone attending services, following CDC guidelines and monitoring COVID-19 case numbers. In light of the recent rise in cases we ask that at this time each of you continue to monitor your personal health very closely. Continue to be cautious and courteous of others as you have been. We will continue our practice of masks being optional, but encourage you to embrace the Christian virtue of hospitality regarding masks. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask while attending, please do so; it is also acceptable if you prefer not to wear a mask.
In Romans 14:20, the apostle Paul instructed the early church, “Don’t tear apart the work of God over what you eat.” (NLT) Paul was helping the early church deal with disagreements over dietary laws. The work of God was to be greater than the arguments over what food one could eat. We could easily insert the word “mask” for “food” for the scripture to speak to us today.
Our personal appeal to you, as leaders in the church, is to remember that not one of us knows the full story of the person behind the mask that is worn nor the reason for someone not wearing a mask. In our very broken and divisive world, we pray that our community of faith will model what it looks like to live with respect and love for others.
We hope you will join us Sunday as we continue our Celebrate and Remember series and look at Channakuh.
