Greetings! Below you will find questions which reference the sermon preached on Sunday, April 14th, 2013 at The Park. Each week new questions are posted to track along with the sermons.

The book of Exodus is a great story of redemption, faith, and the sovereignty of God.

I encourage you to begin your group with a time of greeting and introductions. You may choose to reorder the questions below or to write your own. Work hard to facilitate discussion and avoid allowing yourself or another member to speak the entire hour. Ultimately we trust you with leading your group.

  • What are some observations you had from this chapter?
  • Were there any new insights you learned about the passage from the sermon?
  • What theology was present in this chapter?
  • What did you learn about God from reading this chapter?
  • There are two parallel stories in Exodus 2, that of Moses and that of his mother. Which is the story of faith, and why?
  • What does it look like for you to walk in faith with God? What does it look like for you to act outside of that faith?
  • One could easily say that Moses had failed miserably after committing murder and fleeing, yet we know God had an amazing plan for his life. Do you struggle with the idea of purpose in the midst of failure?
  • At the end of chapter 2 we see a picture of God “hearing” the cry of His people. When have you felt that God heard your cry? When have you felt that God didn’t hear your cry?
  • What do you think would be the cries that God would hear in our city today?
