  • Read Chapter 1 verses 8-14. The God of Israel allowed His people to be oppressed as slaves. Their lives were made to be bitter with hard service and they suffered affliction. How would you have dealt with this? Would you have doubted God’s sovereignty? Do you today?
  • How do you reconcile what the Hebrew midwives did in chapter 1 (15-21)? Were they justified in deceiving and disobeying Pharaoh?
