Good morning!

I hope you have had a great week!

We are excited about celebrating Easter together as a community. On March 31st we will be having two services: one at 9am and the other at 11am. At 10am there will be a time of food, fellowship and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. As we celebrate the risen Savior, our prayer is that you and your family would draw close together and remember the beauty of the gospel, the attitude of Jesus in embracing the cross for you, and the hope that only He gives.

Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day prise from the dead, 47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” ~ Gospel of Luke, Ch. 24

After His resurrection Jesus appeared to His disciples and spoke these verses above. It never fails to amaze me that Jesus died and rose again so that repentance and forgiveness of sins could be extended to us and proclaimed through us. May the gospel of grace and power fill you as you reflect on Jesus, His cross, and His resurrection this Easter.

There are a few other things going on around the Park that we want you to know about:

Exodus Community Group Leaders: Community Groups at the Park track with the Sunday sermons. Starting in April we are going to begin studying the book of Exodus. Any time we start a new book of the bible we engage our community to find out if anyone would like to start a new group. Since community is a core value of the Park, we encourage everyone to get into a Community Group. If there isn’t one that connects to you, start one! It isn’t as hard as you may think. If you are interested in finding out more, contact Chris at chris@theparksa.org

Starting Point on 4.7.13: What is Starting Point? We do this meeting once a month and it is designed to be a time where you get to find out more about the Park; it’s history, vision, values, etc. It is also a time where you can come with questions and we hope to provide clarity. Most questions get answered through the material that we cover, but not always. So, whether you are new or have been coming for a while, Starting Point is your next step in getting connected and I want to encourage you to join us right after service on Sunday, April 7th. Questions? Email chris@theparksa.org

Missional Partner Spotlight: At the Park we partner with individuals and organizations around our city and the world to extend the great message of the gospel through words and actions. We pray for these partners as well as help fund many of their projects, initiatives, and personal needs. For a complete list of our current partners go to: http://theparksa.org/ministry-partners/

Embassy of Hope is a faith-based, 501(c)3, non-profit organization that seeks to raise awareness about the issues of human trafficking and provide services to at-risk youth and exploited young women, ages 16-24. This is an issue that is gaining more awareness but is still relatively unknown to the majority of the population.
Embassy of Hope is having an Art Show Benefit fundraiser on April 7th, Sunday, from 1 – 6 pm.  Dr. Natalie Hughson, psychiatrist and the artist, is from the Ukraine and was the first art theorist in the Ukraine.  She is now a professor at one of the universities in Arizona.  Her book, Psychology of Creativity has sold thousands of copies.  There will be live harp music and food.  Tickets are a donation of $20 and they will also have sponsor packets available.  The tickets and a portion of the sales from any artwork will benefit EOH.

The tickets and a portion of the sales from any artwork will benefit EOH.

Luke Teaching Series: This Sunday we will continue our study of Luke 22. One way to get more out of Sunday mornings is to read ahead before coming. So read through Luke 22 a couple of times and come ready to take some notes.

Have a great Easter weekend and we look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Chris
