Good morning!
I wanted to share a scripture with you that I have been thinking a lot about this week. It has encouraged me immensely:
“Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for ‘All flesh is like grass and all it’s glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.’ And this word is the good news that was preached to you.” ~ 1 Peter 1:22-25
The word of God does not fail. It is alive and active.
There are a few things happening around the Park that we want to make sure you are aware of:
Blueprint Project 10.20.12: Join us as we partner with Blueprint Ministries to show the love of God by repairing and rebuilding homes in some of the poorest areas of San Antonio. Participants need to be at Blueprint at 8am and work until 4:30 or longer, if needed. Sign up on Sundays or email Dwight at dwight@blueprintministry.com for more details. http://blueprintministry.com/
Baptisms 10.28.12: Join us on this Sunday afternoon as we celebrate baptisms at Jeff and Jana Galt’s home from 4-7pm. This is a great time of fellowship and food as well. If you have never been baptized and want to make this public profession of your faith, email Scott at scott@theparksa.org.
Online Giving: People tend to ask us how to give financially at the Park. Since we don’t pass a plate, you can drop your donation in the box as you come into the cafeteria on Sundays. Or, you can give online at www.theparksa.org. Thank you for giving financially!
Volunteering on Sundays: As our community continues to grow, there are always needs with regard to volunteering on Sundays. We ask people for a once-a-month commitment to reinforce the fact that your primary ministry exists outside of Sunday mornings. If we all take one Sunday per month, we can keep that focus alive. Interested to jump in on Sundays in Family Ministries or Set-Up/Take-down? Email Scott at scott@theparksa.org.
Romans Teaching Series: Check out Romans 9 for this coming Sunday. A great way to get more out of the message is to read before coming. So, read chapter 9 several times before Sunday. Go!
NEW!! Staff Highlight:
At the Park, all of our staff people are bi-vocational and we want to support them in any way possible. So, we will be letting you know who these amazing people are and what they do. Help us spread the word on these folks!
Amy Cornwell is one of our Family Ministry coordinators of the Park. She has developed her own event and decorating business that has been featured on SA Living. She has recently started a new endeavor called Pearl’s Projects. The goal here is to inspire people to live a “simple”, sophisticated life. Her hope is to provide ideas to help people be resourceful while still making things nice and elegant.
For more about Amy and what she does, contact her at:
Have a great weekend and we will see you at 10am at Huebner Elementary this Sunday!
