Happy Friday!

I hope your day is off to a great start.

If you missed this past Sunday I want to make sure you are aware of something different we are doing at church this weekend. Many of you have heard of Children’s Hunger Fund and were a big part of the Food Pack project we did with them a few months ago.

As I am sure you know, it’s time for kids to go back to school. The reality for many is that school supplies are a big expense and just not possible for many families. This is where CHF and local churches come in. Through their many connections, CHF has received all the materials needed to help hundreds upon thousands of families. These materials consist of a backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, rulers, scissors, etc. What they need help with is packing all of these materials into the backpacks so that they are ready to be given away to kids and families who need them.

So, this Sunday after church we are asking for 50-75 volunteers to head over to the gym and our goal is to get 500 of these backpacks ready to go. With your help this is more than possible! Can you donate 30-45 minutes of your time after service this Sunday? We hope so!

It’s shaping up to be a busy summer around our community! Check out the latest:

Starting Point: Do you have questions about the Park? Would you like to hear more about the vision of our community? On August 26th we will be hosting Starting Point immediately after church in the cafe. Come with questions…we hope to see you there! Please contact Chris at chris@theparksa.org if you have any questions.

Volunteering on Sundays: As our community continues to grow, there are always needs with regard to volunteering on Sundays. We ask people for a once-a-month commitment to reinforce the fact that your primary ministry exists outside of Sunday mornings. If we all take one Sunday per month, we can keep that focus alive. Interested to jump in on Sundays in Family Ministries or Set-Up/Take-down? Email Scott at scott@theparksa.org.

Romans Teaching Series: This Sunday we are starting a study of the book of Romans. The focus for this week will be Romans 1. A great way to get more out of Sunday is to read before coming. So, take a 5 minute break today and give it a read. We will see you Sunday.

Book of Romans Community Groups in the Fall: We are excited to study the book of Romans this coming fall. We will be launching some community groups that will track along with the sermons each week. For our most recent list of groups go to:

School of Theology: Back by popular demand, we are kicking off classes for our second semester of School of Theology. The purpose is to create an environment for in depth discussion, spirited debate, and skilled facilitation. The classes are six weeks in length, unless otherwise noted. We are fortunate to have some exceptional teachers @ The Park. For the classes being offered this fall and to sign up go to:

Have a great weekend and we will see you at 10am at Huebner Elementary this Sunday!
