Good morning and happy Friday!

There are many places we can turn as the craziness of life goes on around us. In many cases, we don’t know why things are they way they are; life can be confusing. David definitely experienced this feeling as he was being chased by Saul. During this time, he remained steadfast in his faith and constant in his mission. David was far from perfect, but he understood his own limitations and turned to God with all of his heart irregardless of the situation taking place around him. With this heart and mindset, he could write something like this:

“This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.” ~ Psalm 18:30

God is truly a rock, a fortress, a shield for those who come to Him. His way is perfect. His word proves true.

It’s shaping up to be a busy summer around our community! Check out the latest:

Serve at Blueprint Ministries: From July 15 to 19 there is an opportunity to help serve the dinner meal to the students who are here working with inner city families this summer. The time slot is from 5:30pm to 7:30pm each of those nights as well as popsicle deliveries on Tuesday and Thursday of that week from 1-3pm. For more information or to get signed up please contact Colby at colby.vignes@gmail.com. For more info on Blueprint go to www.blueprintministry.com

Bible Study for Women: Jana Galt (jana.b.galt@gmail.com) is the San Antonio class administrator for Community Bible Study. This is a bible study for women that is very similar in format to Bible Study Fellowship and it has more than 600 classes worldwide. There is a children’s program through this bible study for infants through pre-K. This would be a great opportunity for women at the Park to connect with other women and grow in their study of God’s word. If you would like to find out more about this ministry you can email Jana or go to the national website at www.communitybiblestudy.org

If you would like to get into a class, you can register at: http://sanantonio.cbsclass.org

Psalms Teaching Series: This Sunday we are continuing our study of a few Psalms. The focus for this week will be Psalm 101. A great way to get more out of Sunday is to read before coming. So, take a 5 minute break today and give it a read. We will see you Sunday.

Children’s Hunger Fund service project results:  As a community we provided 100 boxes of food that will go to those in need here in San Antonio. Thanks so much for your servant hearts! For more on CHF go to: www.chfus.org. Would you like to volunteer directly with CHF? Or would you like to help coordinate this type of event in the future at the Park? Email Chris at chris@theparksa.org

Summer Psalms Community Groups: We are excited to study a few psalms this summer like we did last year. One new thing we will be doing is launching some community groups that will track along with the sermons each week. Currently existing groups can also participate in this study. To view our current list of community groups go to: http://theparksa.org/community-groups/

Each week we will post a discussion guide on our website at www.theparksa.org. Go there to retrieve it and use during your group meeting.

Have a great weekend and we will see you at 10am at Huebner Elementary this Sunday!

Chris
