“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you” ~ Psalm 63:3

I love this verse. Sometimes we find ourselves looking for a reason to praise God. That sounds funny, but it’s often true. David wrote this while in the wilderness. It was a difficult time to be sure. If he ever had a reason not to praise God it could be argued this would be it. I am encouraged by the discipline we see in the heart of David to praise Him even in the midst of difficulty.

If you ever find yourself looking for a reason to praise Him, look no further than His steadfast love being truly better than life.

As usual, there are several things going on around the Park. Check out the latest:

Serve at Blueprint Ministries: From July 15 to 19 there is an opportunity to help serve the dinner meal to the students who are here working with inner city families this summer. The time slot is from 5:30pm to 7:30pm each of those nights as well as popsicle deliveries on Tuesday and Thursday of that week from 1-3pm. For more information or to get signed up please contact Colby at colby.vignes@gmail.com. For more info on Blueprint go to www.blueprintministry.com

Psalms Teaching Series: This Sunday we are continuing our study of a few Psalms. The focus for this week will be Psalm 18. A great way to get more out of Sunday is to read before coming. So, take a 5 minute break today and give it a read. We will see you Sunday.

Children’s Hunger Fund service project results:  As a community we provided 100 boxes of food that will go to those in need here in San Antonio. Thanks so much for your servant hearts! For more on CHF go to: www.chfus.org. Would you like to volunteer directly with CHF? Or would you like to help coordinate this type of event in the future at the Park? Email Chris at chris@theparksa.org

Summer Psalms Community Groups: We are excited to study a few psalms this summer like we did last year. One new thing we will be doing is launching some community groups that will track along with the sermons each week. Currently existing groups can also participate in this study. To view our current list of community groups go to: http://theparksa.org/community-groups/

Each week we will post a discussion guide on our website at www.theparksa.org. Go there to retrieve it and use during your group meeting.

Have a great weekend and we will see you at 10am at Huebner Elementary this Sunday!

Chris
