Good morning!

I hope you have had a great week. In case you haven’t heard, this Sunday is Father’s day. This past Sunday we mentioned that at the Park we would like to begin a new tradition of our own. For any dad out there, we would like to invite you to wear shorts this Sunday to church. You’re welcome. Not only is it incredibly hot, but it’s your day and you should be able to relax. Oh, and yes…please wear a shirt and shoes as well. Nice try.

As usual, there are several things going on around the Park. Check out the latest:

Psalms Teaching Series: This Sunday we are launching into a study of a few Psalms. Our first one will be Psalm 9. A great way to get more out of Sunday is to read before coming. So, take a 5 minute break today and give it a read. We will see you Sunday.

Children’s Hunger Fund service project:  Last Sunday, June 10, we will be heard from Steve Huerta who is the local coordinator for CHF. He outlined a project for us to be a part of called a Food Pak. It’s very simple: come to the Park and get a CHF box. Go to the grocery store during the week and put food in it. Bring it back to the Park the next Sunday. CHF will then deliver the food to families in San Antonio who desperately need it.

For those of you who took a box this past Sunday you can return it this week at Huebner Elementary. If you missed last week you can grab a box this week and return it on June 24. For more on CHF go to: www.chfus.org

Serving the Servants – Police: Brandon Griffin is leading the charge in serving the people in SA who serve us every day. Whether it is Police, Fire & Rescue, or hospital nurses and dr’s, this is such a great way to share and show the love of God.
We will be bringing home-baked or store-bought goods on Saturday, June 16th to the North and Northwest Police substations. Whether it is brownies, chips and salsa, fruit, etc. they will love it. We hope you will join us!
We will meet at the Starbucks at Blanco & 1604 (the one next to Taco Cabana) at 10:00am and leave for the Police Stations at 10:30am.

Summer Psalms Community Groups: We are excited to study a few psalms this summer like we did last year. One new thing we will be doing is launching some community groups that will track along with the sermons each week. Currently existing groups can also participate in this study. If you would like to host a new group for the summer, please email Chris at chris@theparksa.org. To view our current list of community groups go to: http://theparksa.org/community-groups/

Each week we will post a discussion guide on our website at www.theparksa.org. Go there to retrieve it and use during your group meeting.

Have a great weekend and we will see you at 10am at Huebner Elementary this Sunday!

Chris
