Welcome to the month of March!
2012 is almost a quarter behind us. How are those new years resolutions doing? Sorry if that brings up a rough subject.
For most of us, if we made new years resolutions this is about the time that fatigue sets in and we start to fade away into the abyss of forgotten plans, hopes, dreams. But does it have to be this way? Is January the ordained time in which we can “right the ship” and if it’s unsuccessful we have to wait another 11 months.
Putting all this emphasis on “resolutions” can take away from our daily opportunity to live with purpose. Or it can re-ignite it. If you look up the word resolution you will find that it’s definition is “to make a firm decision to do something”. It sounds like to me that this can happen on any day at any time.
Paul speaks to this issue in Philippians 3:12-14: “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward pcall of God in Christ Jesus.”
He is talking about pressing on, straining toward the goal, the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (verse 14). He has called us! It is incredibly encouraging to know God is firm in his love for us and through His word tells us to press on. So…will you?

Serving the Servants – Mark it on your calendar: on March 31st we will be serving local hospitals by taking delicious food items to nurses and doctors to let them know God loves them and we appreciate them. We will let you know what time and where as the date draws near. Come join us!
Lunch after Church – on Sunday, March 11th a few people will be going out to eat after the service. The location is yet to be determined but stay tuned. Mark it down as a great chance to meet a few people and enjoy some great conversation!
