I hope you have had a great week!

You know you live in Texas when you get up on a February morning and your spouse looks at you and says, “Well, it’s going to be a little chilly today…a high of only 62!”

This has definitely not been the winter I was hoping for or expecting. I should have learned by now but I was hoping we would actually have more than two seasons this year. It’s a fact that in south Texas there are only two seasons: summer and really hot summer. Each year I try and convince myself that it will get colder and stay that way for a few months. At some point I need to change my expectations since they continue to be out of whack.

Of course this makes me think of faith and following Christ. Any expectation or hope I could ever have fails in comparison to knowing Christ and making him known. Paul said it best in his letter to the believers at Philippi: “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” ~Philippians 3:8

This is such a great encouragement to us. Irregardless of circumstances, unmet expectations, or the loss of all things…knowing Christ is supremely valuable over them all. His constant love, leading, and grace cannot be topped by anything in this world.

Have a great Friday and we look forward to seeing you this Sunday at the Park!

Chris

Special Note:

In case you haven’t heard, we are in the middle of bringing in new volunteers to our Sunday morning ministry environments. Our passion behind volunteers is that we understand you have a ministry outside of the Park. Because of this, we ask anyone who calls the Park home to volunteer once a month in any area of ministry that takes place on Sunday morning. The great benefit of this is that the ministry is shared by all on Sundays which allows your ministry throughout the week to remain a central focus in your life. This is what we desire!
